She is "the guardian of the subconscious."   Think in terms of "gut feelings."

In some of the older decks (pre-1909), this is "The Papess."   In the "Ancient Italian Tarot" (published by Lo Scarabeo), this is La Papessa.

The letters "B" and "J" on the two pillars are said to stand for "Boaz" and "Joachim."   These are the names of two pillars at the entrance of Solomon's temple (see I Kings 7:21).
